...... I went for a ride round the farm by myself(but with HQ of course) and trotted and went past the cows in the hedge and to top it all, the main triumph is that I zipped up my bod. protector w/out help!!!! (Can't tell you how bl. diff. that is). Horse dentist lady, Friday, affirmed HQ's youth. She said she's JUST four, if not younger.:eek: :eek: :eek:
RI said I'd never ride round on HQ.
I'm a bit tiddly widdly and v. proud. Tiny triumphs, tiny triumphs:) :) :rolleyes:

OMG LD:eek: :eek:

That is fantastic:D :D Given what you have been through you are absolutely amazing to do that by yourself :D

- I am way off that one yet :rolleyes:

Right you have put me in the mood for one.
When i get back from walking my dogs I think I'll pour me a G&T too and I'll drink to your health:D

the main triumph is that I zipped up my bod. protector w/out help!!!!

Hee hee - I'm the same! I've managed to do that once - definately couldn't today after putting on a few lbs since Easter:o

Horse dentist lady, Friday, affirmed HQ's youth. She said she's JUST four, if not younger.

Oh man. Are you going to contact you know who? Was you know who even at the birth?
That is mighty disappointing LD.:(

I don't mean in HQ, I mean in you know who. Gosh 'he who shall not be named'. Lets call them Voldemort:p

Didn't you say she was really well schooled? Well that is good anyway.

Congrats and enjoy the feeling.

In fact, so far it has been a pretty good long weekend for the folk in the mature riders nervous nellie club.

Long may it last girls.

Cheers (Hic, hic)

Oh CONGRATULATIONS....

~ What an achievement

~ What a feat of courage and determination

~ Onwards and upwards

~ I mean, to do it all by yourself...

~ Now that you have done it once we will always expect the same......

..... ZIPPING UP YOUR BODY PROTECTOR WITHOUT HELP!!!!!

~~~ YEAY! ~~~
(PS Ride round by yourself was pretty impressive too ;) )
(PPS Have been for a pint myself, hence the general silliness :D )
Well done :D
I still have to have assistance to get into my bp! Am very jealous ;)
HQ is a very good girl - my boy is petrified of cows.
And to join in the spirit of the thread, I have had 3 glasses of Asti Spumante!
Well done!
Not sure if I'm going to join you with the G+T's though, still nursing a hangover from last night (its was the Goldschlager shots I swear).
I've only got a glass of R Whites lemonade ("the cupboards were bare") :D so am joining in the merriment spiritually rather than alcoholically ;)
That's a fantastic achievement, a really big triumph not a little one! Well done LD.
Glass of Vino Blanco raised in your honour LD!!! Well done! We're both onwards and upwards :D
I remember seeing HQ for sale and she was advertised as being much older! Blimey, if she's only 3, how old was she when she was broken and backed.. :eek: poor darling, she's doing so well though - as are you :D
Well done about body protector and ride. I know how good you must feel.
Thank-you all you lovely peeps! What a fantastic thing to have lots of horsey friends; cheers to ye all!!
Now I have to just try to get out of bod. protector,'s 11 o'clock, have been out celebrating youngest's 21st(my BABY:eek: ), and as no-one mentioned bulky top in restaurant, thought I'd just keep it on for tomorrow's ride. (Notice how casually that last bit came out).:D :D
W'jit,
Had conversation in tea room this afternoon re Harley's purchase. General opinion is that they saw me coming. And that lying is so not unusual in horse sales. I just couldn't live like that, it'd make me tired. But HQ is a dear (yes, expensive!), honest sort, clever, and indeed has been nicely brought on. But
in my darkest hours a few weeks ago, I would def. have thrown in the towel if I had had it confirmed then about her babyness.
You're sensible enough to get somebody experienced in to help and sane enough to cope; what more could your partnership need? You've got years ahead yet to shape your future together and you'll have a priceless mount to show for it :)
Bless you both :)
There goes the gin doing its work!!:p
Happy Birthday to your 21 year old:D
I still get the wobblys sometimes when I think of how young Cooper is. Especially when you read about what youngsters can do on the threads here and at my yard everyone goes on about what a baby he is. One minute I love it then next I have a momentary panic.
You, me and Imp have all got help with our neddys and they are loved to pieces by us in between the professional attention. :D
Hope you havn't got too much of a hangover today!
:D :D
Thanks for the update on the abbreviations Imp - it must help to have teenagers!
LD, will definately stop recommending Voldemort now. :(
Little D that is fantastic!:D Very well done to you.:D Raises cup of green tea.. (Ok OK:o but it is the next day now!;) )
Really pleased its starting to come off. Boy she is very young isn't she. They kept that well hidden. And Little D, didn't they say she was born at the yard? I'm sure I remember something like that.
How did the unzipping go? :rolleyes:
I'm a little late catching up with this (darn ISP playing up!) and would raise a glass if I didn't have to work a night shift later...Well Done LD! is just about all I can say... you're a star, she's a star and it's onwards and upwards from here:D
BTW... have you removed that BP yet... you'll start to smell really bad soon if you don't;)
Hey thanks for big purple wordies, HC!
'S the colour of HQ's water bucket and accessories. You knew that, didn't you!
BP still in place. Going to Scotland on hol tomozz for a week. Bit chilly up there and thought it'd be better than a vest.;) hopefully sea breezes will blow unpleasant aroma out of nose range.
Hi LD, great news about the ride out, well done, and ON YOUR OWN! what an achievement. And think about the extra achievement - bringing on such a youngster, every credit is due to you, well done again..... I'd be horrified to thing about acquiring a 3 year old and riding out alone in such a short space of time.....
Onwards and upwards for you now.
Where are you going in gods own country next week? Have a lovely lovely time.
Anne
/QUOTE]
Hi Anne! I AM quite horrified
:eek: But also really proud of HQ for being as good a girl as she is, given the new info. What I can't work out is that she's so bloomin solid and grown-up looking, except for her dentition!
Thanks for your praise, though; hope I will still deserve it after my break; return of nellyousness?
Where are we headed? NE coast, Gardenstown, nearest city Aberdeen. My (Grandad and ancestors were raised "in the shadow of the Cairngorms". It's two days drive from sunny Surrey. Worth it, tho':)
