Are you 100% sure its mites. There is also a cream called Benzyl Benzoate that vets use for mites. You may need to take his feathers off to treat the mites successfully. There is an injection called Ivomec. It is used to treat mites on cattle. I know some people use it on their horses. I have just used it on my cobs legs. Please speak to your vet first though as I believe some horses can have anaphlatic shocks and kill them using it. Sorry if I spelt that wrong?
