fizz has just come into season & has gone lame,no heat/swelling etc but very unhappy if i try to touch her thigh down :(
she has never acted like this & when she was ridden on monday she was trying to take off/chucking her head about & jogging:eek: anyone who knows fizz knows that its hard enough to get her to move:rolleyes: never mind take off:(
farrier is coming on tue to check her white line & put fronts on as the yard she moves to on sat has lots of stoney paths,he thinks its either 1; jarred her leg on the stone ground when ridden on mon, 2;white line has made her lame, 3; hormonal.
any ideas??

I've never heard of a horse going lame because of a season, and I don't understand how it could be hormonal? It's horrible when things like this happen and you can't figure out why. I hope you find the cause soon.

thanks:)
the reason it was thought it might be due to her season is that if her back was hurting & she was trying to mess about she might of jarred her leg, or back pain making her lame behind:confused:

Ah I understand now. Though I've never know a mare to be 'sore' just a little bit sensitive. But if she was messing about, it could be possible she has jarred her leg. Thing is with horses, there are lots of things that can be the cause. She could have been pratting about in the field and hurt herself. If only they could talk. With some of the injuries Martini has had, I just wish she could have told me how she did it because for some I was completely clueless.
