Just went out on Cedric and the girl down the road who comes and strokes the horses came along wth me on her bike.

Anyways, because I was talking and not concentrating too much on him, he decided he was going to take the p*ss and was being a bit nappy on the way out. Lots of legs and growling did the trick and he was even really good going past the barking dog.

Got to the riverbank and asked for canter and off we went, nice and smoothly, then 'bang' he sped off like he had been shot out of a cannon  . Luckily for me he didn't set his neck and I turned him in a circle till he stopped and then realised he scared himself with the bike 'chasing' him  :p . After he snorted a couple of times, I patted him and told him he was a silly billy and he was okay again. He then decided to spook at the barking dog on the way back  but I made him walk past it again and he was fine.

Not the usual sedate ride but I realised that I can stop him if he bolts and I didn't fall off

Well done to you.:D It makes such a difference when you start understanding the way they are thinking, doesn't it? When Sennie reacts I can usually know the reason behind it now.

It helps when you just laugh these silly things off as well. :p Horses can be freaked by the most weirdest of things. Then when you expect them to be freaked their not.

It also bears out what I was saying the other day about them being lively at the moment. You did really well Supercali.:) Great name your horse has BTW.

Well done! You really kept your cool and handled the situation very well! I know what you mean about the screaming on the inside too. :D

lol well done!!
i know horses that will quite happily trot past a rumbling tractor, but wlak past the golf course and see a scawy flag-we're off! bearing in mind this is not just an ordinary flag though. this is a super-sized horse-eating maniac flag of course!
