 I JUST BOUGHT 2 HORSES!

OMG!!!! I stayed up last night....WIDE AWAKE.... thinking...
I REALLY did it! I finally bought my dream horses! YAAAY!

Then all the other stuff dawned on me... oh boy! NOW WHAT???

I am having such mixed feelings...fear,excitement,anxiety,happiness.....

I'm sure this will all settle in time.... and as far as I have heard, EVERYONE goes through this.... it's rather overwhelming!:o

But I would not trade my decision of buying them for anything!

They are American Paints :D They are sort of sisters...sharing the same grand sire QH Sonny Dee Bar, if you are familiar with QH's..The previus owners bought them for triple their price now when they got them from the breeders, I think I still came out well in price for the two! (Luckily or OH would have fainted on me!)
Savannah is 9 and Fancy is 4 yo. They are my dream horses:p ...and today I have only officially had them for a week....So much is already going on...Fancy is getting started Monday!:D While Savannah is getting 'fine tuned' by my RI.

Sooo much to do!!!!
But nonetheless...my daughter and I are excited!
I still sit back and still go, OMG! though..:p

Hehe.... I walked round in a daze for three weeks before I got the lightening bolt of realisation! I was at work, having rambled on non-stop to my poor long-suffering colleague when I suddenly went "OMG! I've got a horse!" - she gave me a funny look, but that was the moment that I REALLY sank in!! So you must be having it doubly so. Freaky feeling isn't it? (but great :D )

There are lovely horses BTW....

Deep breaths.... it WILL pass, I promise - and it will be replaced by a wonderful feeling of happiness and contentment.... and you have got them at such a lovely time of year too... I got mine just as winter started so I am enjoying the warmer days now....

They are so beautiful...congrats! That is very exciting news. :D I still have to pinch myself to see if its real and I've had my mare for over 2 years now. You and your daughter are going to have a blast with the new babies!

Congratulations! :) They're both beautiful. Your overwhelming feelings will calm down eventually, but then one day in a few months, something will catch you unawares, and you'll think, WOW I have a horse!! And it will suddenly take you by surprise again. Or is that just me being a bit mad? ;)
Anyway, keep the pics coming, and let us know how you get on! :)

Well HELLO to you ! Nice to hear that our horses run the same bloodline :D ...
What is your horses' name, age? How many hands? I think mine are roughly 15hh, and I dont think they will get much bigger....
Have you seen actual pics of Sonny Dee Bar? HUGE family resemblance to your horse~:)

Oh...it seems to have been a HUGE HUGE realization for me...not only am I responsible for my daughter's horse....now I have one of my very own!:p

We had a TB mare who passed this January and my daughter was just devestaed ever since...not even wanting to go to lessons anymore.... I felt awful! She was 17-20 yrs old..not sure...happened so sudden.

So I fumbled online and saw these girls and immediately fell in love! Luck had it they were boarded at a local barn not 15 minutes from my house! Went back and forth viewing them....and again and again....made a deal...and here they are!:D

Right now it's a bit of a struggle...as we are all getting to know each other....
I am having leading issues with the young one (white face) as she is a little rushy and is sooooo obsessively attahed to her sister!
It will take some time! I am trying to get my daughter to work with her, but quite recently (1st day we got them) we led them out and her horse bolted off of her hand and she was a little scared...I think she's a bit scared now...
So it's not without issues as all horse owners have...

I am hoping to quickly correct this leading issue... but I know it will take time.

Funny how we find ourselves in these positions!!:)

i bought the pony for my daughter, then a friend left China and gave me her horse. I never had the intention to get one for myself, but there you go....

i have moved them now to a better yard, but it is very professional, where the Shanghai SJ team are based, 2 of the riders will represent China in the 2008 Olympics. I was worried they would be condesending with my lack of knowledge and experience, never mind my nerves. But they are all so helpful and patient, never be afraid to ask, most people like to think they know more than you !!!!!

my daughter and I have hours of fun together, she is 10yrs old, I'm sure you both will too;)

iluv,

He's 8 years old and he's 15.1h. His barn name is Scotty and his show name is Highlander. I've had him for 2 years now. You're right he does have the typical Sonny Dee Bar look to him based on what I've seen while researching it on the web. Congrats on the two new additions btw.....:)

So...its been 12 days since.... and it is starting to settle better for me.:D
This whole horse ownership, I mean.

But I think OH just got hit by all the expense and future expense just the other day....
Not that he never knew from the start, just thik it actually dawned on him yesterday:rolleyes:

So my every moment is reserved for barn day....even had to configure recent family gatherings around barn time:D But I think now, OH is handling it better.

He is a definite horse widow!:D :D

My daughter and I are having such fun....
Hope everyone else is having a great time with their horses as we are!:)
