Hi,
At greenbriar there is a show in June, and I am taking my pony for the first time, she's done it plenty of times, and I've done a couple myself, but she is wicked fast, and I'm nervous about two major things. The schooling rounds because there is so many people, and she doesn't slow done for anyone, and the flat class, that one should be fun!! Any suggestons? Any thoughts?

Quick Reply-

Do plenty of flat work before hand to slow her down. Half halt, half halt, half halt. Make sure none of your cues are conflicting and she isn't in pains, thus running from it. Practice jumping once you feel she is slower and listening better to your cues. Set up grids and lines and practice going from one to another, each with various strides. Because you will be asking her to extended and collect and then extended more or collect alot more she should be paying attentiong ALOT more. Once you do the jumps a few times one lead, switch reins and continue. Keep things interesting to make her think.

Good luck!
