Sorry to be a pain, I no doubt have asked this question somewhere before along the lines but we'll go again!! Just to make things clear, lol!

Ok its mine and Manny's first show together next weekend. Has been sometime since he has done showing, used to be used for showjumping and cross country. But I'm really looking forward to it.

I have decide I will do Best Condition (In hand) instead of Best Turned out (ridden), mainly as i feel there will be loads of little children in the ridden class, and well our tack, shall we say doesn't all match 100% more like 98%. Not just that, i feel myself i think Manny will have more of a chance in the Condition class as I think he is looking amazing at the moment, may just be me thou, i have had a few others that have commented recently.
I am also going to do the Best riding club horse.

Now for the questions.

I don't want to go out spending loads of money, as i'm doing it for fun, and well Money doesn't grow on trees, its just eaten by horses and cars, lol!

For the inhand, can i just lead him in his normal smart snaffle bridle? Just get a leather leadrope for it? Should I get a fancy browband? Can this be used for the inhand stuff and ridden class?
Will I be ok to lead in my long boots(well boots and gaiter), and my normal riding hat, with a velvet cover?
Should I carry my show cane for the inhand? I never use whips with manny.

Ridden class:

For best riding club horse, Is it a class where you have to ride in a snaffle?
This is a quote from the schedule:

B EST RIDING HORSE OVER 14.2hh
To be judged 65% on ride, 25% on conformation and 10% on turnout

Doesn't say I am required to jump like in the other show schedules and it doesn't state i need to ride in a snaffle or not. So at the moment I'm like>

Ok now me :o

I have a Brown Tweed jacket, that I'll be riding in as its a bigger size, i can hide my body protector, I have a creamy yellow shirt. Question: What colour tie?
For the inhand, i think i'll wear my blue/grey tweed jacket, its better fitting and i won't have to wear my body protector (mothers law when riding!)

Think thats it for now, lol!! I do apologise!! Thanks for all the help and advise.

Heres my lastest picture of him, since this two weeks ago, hes got 10times shiner and lost most of his clip

Ridden bridle with reins is fine. Leather leads are for inhand bridles. Leave the show browband in favour of a plain one, he looks more of a hunter type to me from that photo. Same bridle for ridden and inhand. Ideally flat and fairly wide.

It'd look better to wear a pair of light coloured trousers with smart trainers/shoes. You can wear your riding hat, if you do then your hair should be in a bun. You could wear a trilby/bush hat instead if you prefer.

If it doesn't say so then no. A pelham/double with two reins is often preferred as it shows (in theory) more advanced schooling, but a snaffle is equally fine. If it doesn't state that you may need to jump then you wont.

I would be inclined to go for something gold based, but try a few against your jacket to see what looks best.

Have fun :D

Thank you so so much!

Re: leading with reins.
Do i put the reins through the bit so they are both on one side, or just hold them underneath behind the bit?

Just hold them underneath, but give him his head enough that he can move well.
