Okay.... let's jump on the "names" bandwaggon.... :D
Just SÚPPOSING I end up taking Cherry to a show this season.... well, the gal's gotta have a show name hasn't she....?
Suggestions I have come up with:-
- Sweet Cherry Pie
- Cherry Blossom
- Cherry Orchard
- My "Cherry" Amour (:D heehee, this one's a joke but the Matures will remember the song!!)
My personal fave is the first one, but they all seem a tad cheesy to me. Anyone got any comments, or better suggestions that my sad little collection?
(And even if I do settle on a name, then there's a small matter of an outfit for me on a budget!!!)

Chickflick - "Cherry of my eye"??? Were you "stoned" when you suggested that..... hehe... :D
Talking of Cherry.... as I can't stop doing... .... she had another sesh with the dressage/schooling lady today in a snaffle. Lady reported back that she went better in that and did some work in the school and then she hacked her up the lane to give her a change of scenery but she kept her on the bit the whole time. She got her leg-yielding in the school too.... something I have obviously heard of but have never seen in action nor would I know how to ask for it! She reckons Chez may have done some dressage in the past  - yeay!! She is doing some more with her tomorrow night as I am at stepdad's funeral. I hope to watch her one evening so she can tell me what she is doing and hopefully I can have a go under her watchful eye. I asked if she had enjoyed herself (the rider!) as I want her to get something out of it and she told me she had had great fun!
She later confessed to a mate at the yard that she wouldn't want to take Cherry round the fields in just the snaffle.... ya think!!! (Told Dom this and he - the "experienced horseman" now said "I would!" Trouble is, he has the strength to prove it too!!) In fact, knowing Chez like I do, I WOULD take her round the fields in the snaffle, but I know it could possible turn into a pulling match!!!
Thought of another - "Marischino Cherry"???

I seem to remember the name from somewhere but not sure where. We had a few to choose from. Captain Scarlett, Captain Jack but I went for the funny option. It brings a smile to people's faces as I enter the ring..:D

Well! It's been a few weeks and I was kind of settling on Sweet Cherry Pie but then.......
My Saturday-hack-buddy.... (aka "Astropoof") has managed to come up with a brilliant name.... she just told me this morning....
"Morello Noire"
I think it is very suave and conjours up images of a lovely sleek black beauty.... bit of a disappointment when aforementioned chunky cob comes lumbering into view :D :D :D
Thanks J! xxx

NOOO Creme de cassis is made from BLACKCURRANT (which is why it tastes like Ribena ;) ) which is added to white wine to make Kir, or to champagne to make Kir Royale - I am an alcohol connoisseur :D
Agree Morello Noir is a good name. I thought of Black Cherry as soon as I saw the subject of the thread, but sounds posher in french

Guinulet (sp?) is a french cherry liquer (that I make every year - OK not in France but with a French friend's grandfathers home made spirit as a base...) Creme de Griotte (sp!?) is the wild cherry version of creme de cassis. Mmmmm, I like cherry things....Favourite has got to be the cherry fizzy stuff in a double dipper.....sorry, OT, no more name ideas!

What about "Sakura" which is the Japanese word for cherry blossom. They really love the cherry blossom & have a great time when they come out, and have parties under the trees to enjoy the sight.
They say that the cherry blossom reflects the ethos of the Samurai, absolute perfection for a short while, but gone quickly, like youth & love
