First off, forgive me if this is in the wrong section. Training seems appropriate for a bit question.

Someone told me about this bit and how so many people and their horses love it. I have never personally seen a horse ridden in it so I haven't had any first hand experience myself.
But, I don't see how it is any different than a Tom Thumb except I see no place for a curb chain. Could that be the only difference? Does it make much of one?

I've never heard of these bits. I've checked out the website, they don't look like anything too special or unique. There are a few different things, but that's it. And I wouldn't pay 100 dollars for a bit if it was made of pure gold. :p

It doesn't look anything like a tom thumb....which is good I suppose as I hate tom thumbs and wouldn't put one in my horses mouth for a million dollars:eek: !!!! I've never heard of this bit before.

No, it's for handsprings.
I still don't know how it works. They didn't explain well enough that I could understand.
I don't see why anyone would pay $100 for a bit, especially if you can get a nice one for much cheaper - new or used. If anyone on here has.. Any specific reason?

I'm guessing it serves to achieve poll pressure without moving the bit in the horse's mouth. If so however I can't see the advantage of having each side moving independantly, as you would have to have very steady hands to achieve an equal pressure all the time, and one-sided poll pressure just doesn't seem very useful to me. I don't know though, any other ideas?

Still clueless. I asked someone on another messageboard how it worked. They had no idea. They said their trainer liked it and so did they. Didn't help much. They used it for cutting.

Mm. If it rotates both ways independently it must need a very soft pair of hands to prevent horsie getting confused?
