Had a lovely one! Pumpkin was really forward going :D But not too much so, he just had a spring in his step, it felt like he was enjoying himself. We had a battle over going down a particular pathway, and I won, without any major panicking on my part, so that pleased me no end. Anyway, we explored unknown tracks, generally had a lovely ride. Then on the way back we found a nice safe flat stretch of grass and had.... a canter! :D It was the longest canter I've ever had on Plumps as I only ever manage to get a couple of strides out of him in the school, and it was ace!! Felt like yelling Yee Ha as we cantered through the middle of the orchard! Lots of fun had all round, the only thing that made us turn for home was that he was getting a little testy on the gravel paths (he's currently barefoot), and I want to build it up slowly.
Anyway, he came back soaked, so he enjoyed a nice sponging down to cool him off, and hopefully some more hacks of this nature will bring out the odd muscle or two. For him and me ;)
Here he is relieved to be back in his field, he was absolutely shattered!
Thanks for everyone's encouragement when my nerves get the better of me. Maybe I'll even tackle solo hacking soon!! ;) I'm really enjoying this whole acting like a teenager lark, thanks for the suggestion! :D

Thanks Peeps :) He's having the day off tomorrow, let his feet have a rest. Aside from which looks like I'll have a little'un off school as one of them has a temperature, so it will have to be housework day tomorrow :(

Well done, keep it up. Agree there must be something in the weather. He's a lovely looking fella, but looks so strong, is he?

Thanks again everyone :) AmandaL - how you settling in in Somerset? Do you miss Kent?
Mini Reed - god yes, he's strong as anything, but thankfully doesn't realise it :) He pulled my YO down the yard earlier cos he wanted to be turned out with his field buddy. Thankfully, him pulling people along is a rare occurence, he's a gentle giant usually.
