I've just found another show, this ones the end of May, but theres one thing that is confusing me.

What is the difference between Riding horse and Riding club horse?

Here what its say in the schedule:

Riding Horse
Horses 148cm and over. Judge may ride. Riders 15yrs and over

(God I'll have to learn to get on from the ground! :p  )

Ridng Club Horse/ Pony Club Pony
Suitable for all pony club and riding club activities. To include a small jump. Will be split if sufficent entries. Horse excessing 153cm.

What would be required?
One more question, what height is a small fence?

A riding horse is the type of horse between a hunter and a hack. They are lighter of bone than hunters (although many go in both classes at local level) but not as fine and extravagant as a hack. They are shown in the same way as hunters (tweed, long boots, workmanlike tack) but they have a blingy browband.

A riding club horse is basically looking for a horse that is suitable for all riding club activities, so one that could do a basic dressage test, has a nice jump, good manners etc. Turnout to type for this class, although I think tweeds are the more correct jacket. You could do both classes assuming the horse is suitable.

For both classes you generally do the standard show showing canter/trot on both reins, with a gallop in the riding horse class and more of an extended canter in the riding club class (unless asked for a gallop). Jump wise I think they're usually around the 2'3 mark, it really depends on the show! I've never seen bigger than that. :)
