A friend of mine has given me a kimblewick to borrow as I was using a pelham with roundings and thought I'd give the kimblewick a bash.
Its slotted, with the curb chain - it's the bit in the middle that I was wondering about........it's a copper coloured U (yep that's fine) but its jointed on either side of the U (port are they called?) and then a short shank to where it meets up with the D.....most ported kimblewicks are generally just one piece I thought. Anybody any ideas on this as to the action and is it more severe than using a more traditional one?.....hope this makes sense. Just wanted to get some gen on it before we go for it. Many thanks!!!
