Title says it all! Totally  I dont know what to do :( So the situation is:
I'm going to register bsja
Fleur could be a pony/horse
I'm 14
Fleur has a horse stride
I dont know what to do!!!
It all started tonight, in my lesson, well more like AFTER my lesson ;)
So in my lesson i was jumping a single upright then in an oxer. She jumped really nicely and only stopped once cos the fence was two crosses oxer thing
Then claire(RI) put it in a hogsback. I've never jumped anything like that before and was a bunch of nerves lol, but fleur really just got on with it.
The first time she went over it the middle bar was at 85cm. She took a huge leap and claire was laughing and really praising us, she said " God Nat, the middle pole could of been on 1.10m and she would of cleared that" :p I was well chuffed. Second time round she gave it a good clearance but not quite as big hehe.
Then claire put it in a triple bar. I was seriously peeing my pants, im such a wimp. She put the back bar on 85 and fleur was mega :D She was making a really nice shape over the fence and not struggling at all. So she stuck it up to 90 and again she cleared it.
At the end of my lesson (this is when it happened) Claire said she has real scope and she can f*****g jump as she put it. But she also asked how big she is 14.2/14.3 i said. She then said it might be worth registering her as a horse and me as a junior associate. Her reasons for this is she has really long strides and cant shorten enough so she thinks she'd struggle in ponies. Which i do agree with, at the last bsja i went in the clear round and it was the double she stopped at because she was too long and flat.
Spoke to YM about it and she totally disagrees and says that i'd be competing against adults, v. true but it wouldnt bother me, id rather be thrashed by older people than a seven year old on a 12.2 :p She said i have to MAKE her shorten but i dont really want to, claire says even she does shorten it wont be enough.
So what do i do? Register her as a pony and have two years "play" out of her OR register her as a horse and yes, compete against adults, but in the long run have more time to jump her, even if its just for enjoyment?
Someone please help. Any thoughts appreciated Natxxx
