Horse Owners Certificates

What use are these? I have levels 1-3 but think apart from proving the basics of your theoretical knowledge they mean nothing. Who else has done them?
What good are they? Did I waste my money? Should I have done stages?

What use are 90% of BHS exams. I have met few BHS qualified folk for whom I have any real respect !

I guess that achieving them is a personal goal anyway.
I assume you did them because you wanted more information or something, or felt like making sure you knew what you were doiing?

I suppose when looking after your horse - if you have one - you might find it useful sometimes to be able to call on the information you got in the courses for the Horse Owner's Certificates? I think they are much cheaper than the BHS Stages arent they? They were in the past anyway.

Another thought on your post. If you want to work professionally with horses then it is the Stages you should have done. If you do, (want to go professional) and the courses youdid were good ones, you should have most of the theory knowledge for the Stages so could go on and do them anyway - if you have the practical abilities that is.

Looking back I would have done my Stages.
But my insturctor wanted money.....
She didn't mention them.

hiya! I've got my level one & I'm doing my level two next week. I've also got my stage one in feb! I don't really know what they are but I know they cost £12 a time! but they're inbuilt into out Horse Management Course! missy.

Anyone done these course by home study? I hear you can have the exam paper sent to your home by one of the colleges - although another sends someone along with the question paper to sit and oversee you do it - seems odd to me that the BHS allow you to have the exam paper before you sit the exam though - doesnt seem right - but who knows what 'people' think is right these days - how are you doing them Missy?
