hi there,I've not posted before(although have been lurking for a while:) what a great site you're all so helpful.
Is a bit of a long shot but hey ho worth a try.I am looking for some help with backing a pony.My OH "rescued"her from the sales (can't leave him alone for 5 mins!!).She is 13.1 or so and not really of stocky build, although not terribly fine either.Problem is I am too heavy to back her and would really like to do something with her as think she would be a lovely riding pony eventually.
So before I bore you to death here is my question:does anyone on here live in Devon(near exeter)and fancy a challenge? or does anyone know/can recommend someone to come and back her for me? I am not bothered about qualifications as such as am a bit of a "farm rider" myself just want someone who is kind and patient and up for it! (goes without saying would not expect anyone to do it for nothing;)
Thanx for reading and hoping someone can help

good luck with yours, bet you can't wait!!
I would be quite happy to back her (can't promise it would be elegant or technically correct but don't mind doing it!!) but really am too heavy.I have a highland x filly coming soon (hopefully) who I will be quite happy to back as feel she can take more weight, but this pony really isn't up to it I don't think.
Make myself sound like a hippo don't I!!:p
Just can't seem to find any one local to me who could help (nearest RA is 20+ miles away, then they charge loads for mileage:( )
Thought it was worth a shot on here, must be someone out there who can rise to the challenge (or fall as the case may be lol)

Thanx guys for replys.
Chestnuts4ever,that sounds very resonable and please give me name of it if you can.I have to say I would rather keep her at home as don't think she's had the best start in life and don't want to cause her anymore distress by sending her away to yet another new place. That said if it turns out to be the only option might have to consider it so details of place would be appreciated .thanx
Jenni2 have sent you an e mail with my details, sounds great fingers crossed, thanx for thinking of me.
Thanx again everyone for replys knew it would be worth posting on here you all so helpful:)
