Hiya,
I was just wondering if you guyz could help me with 2 problems.
In a couple of months I am going to start teaching my 7yo to jump. I was wondering what sort of work I should do with her before we actually begin jumping. And how I actually teach her to jump!:o
Also, If the jumping goes well,I will do some jumping and possibly some eventing too. I have jumped and evented before but she hasn't! Can I jump and event her in a bitless bridle or does it need to have a bit? Can she have a synthetic saddle and bridle?

Thanks in advance

try teaching her to jump while on the ground, so you can transfer it when your on her, and she knows what the poles are about:)
you can event bitless, and youll be fine in synthetic tack, but youll need a bit for dressage:)

Not sure how old you are but Juniors cannot jump BSJA bitless, as most local shows & riding club jumping is run under BSJA rules, chances are you won't be able to jump bitless at them either. However, I'm unsure exactly how many unaffilated shows know BSJA rules so you could be OK.

If you are a senior then you are allowed bitless

not sure how old you are but my friend and i jumped bitless a few weeks ago (unaffiliated) to rest our horses mouths and we were stopped and asked how old we are (16 and 15) which was ok so i would check this out first! :):):)

prehaps go on the BSJA or BE website?
