I have an inhand fun show and gymkana on sunday. I may or may not need breaks for the gymkana, but I don't like doing inhand with two reins particularly, and I think that putting him in 3 out of the 4 bits might give the judge the impression he's strong. :p

So choice of;
Loose ring snaffle with eliptical cyprium mouthpiece - really nice soft bit
Wilki Snaffle - bit big and cumbersome, but gives some breaks
Pelham with same mouthpiece as snaffle
Show pelham with an eliptical link

What do you think? We're doing family friend (amongst others) so a snaffle would be better there, but I'd rather not crash through things in the gymkana! :rolleyes:

Edited to say, I'd really rather not change bridle if possible, he can be a bit of a sod and I wont have the trailer.

For the family friend class as you say a snaffle would be better, but my preference would be to show in the double reins it looks smart and you have good control for in hand!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depending on the class, the judge should be looking a how your horse is presented and trotted up and how he moves and his conformation in an in hand class. If its a fun show like you say then i wouldnt worry to much - although i wouldnt myself show in the Wilkie!!!!
