My pony has severe sweet itch.He has been wearing a Boett rug 24/7 since before the midges appeared but is still itching in some places.

Just wondered whether D-Itch feed supplement is any good.I have used to lotion on Sam previously, which did work quite well but was messy and made his tail very oily so i would rather not use that if it's avoidable.

Was rubbish for my sweet itch mare Net-tex Itch Stop Salve was much better and I only put on weekly. I get it off ebay.

Stuck record alert! D-itch - didn't do anything for my pony. Marmite? - wonder ingredient! Pony actually has (touch wood) a full tail this year. (Also echo use of Net-tex Sweet-itch salve)

I used marmite butties last summer and they didnt make a difference for Sam.It's really just trial and error i suppose isnt it?Different things work differently for different horses.

Wouldn't it have to be quite a bit of Marmite considering the size of an equine?!

Didnt do anything for my pone either-I dont use supplements for sweet itch anymore as most of them dont work. Marmite is my favourite and he wears his sweet itch hoodie with it too.

At my riding school we use a herbal thing, cant remember what its called, but it stinks!!!!!! Its DEFINATELY got garlic in it, no doubt about that :p Its like a paste type thing, comes in a white tub, but cant for the life of me remember what its called. But that works wonders, only one pony has got it bad, and its clearing up a treat with this garlic stuff. So I would reccomend that. I'll find out the name next time im down.
