View Full Version : Another EDT needed - Wiltshire this time

Hi
Last time I had my mare's teeth rasped it was done by the vet that did all the horses' teeth at that yard in one visit (have since moved). This vet met with some resistance and so sedated her - and then also twitched as she still wasn't standing still. Must say I was absolutely furious when I found out  (couldn't be there for the appointment)

Have now moved and it's time for a checkup. There is one EDT that covers my area but me and another girl on the yard have been trying with no success to contact him - she has used him before and was very happy with him. In case we can't get hold of him I wondered whether anyone could recommend and EDT that would cover North Wiltshire. I've seen the list on Em1's thread but after Zara's last experience I would be looking specifically for someone who would be really quiet, gentle and sympathetic. I DON'T want her sedated again (apart from anything else she's terrified of the needle, but it didn't seem to do much good anyway). I would be more than happy to pay for multiple visits to do the work as gradually as needed to keep my girl happy and comfortable with the process.

Any info appreciated

I use Stuart...... can't remember his surname!!! I have him in my mobile as "Stuart Teeth" :o

"Field of Equitation Equine Dental Services" is his company. He does loads of work at our yard - is highly recommended and very laid back! He will involve you in what he is doing and will let you put your arm into your horses mouth to feel what he has done! Easy to talk to as well. Does a good job. I have seen his advert in a past copy of Ridgeway Rider so will look it up and add to this post if I can find it. His mobile is 07855 792955.

Hope this helps....

PS - Do you want to come for a "tour" and introductions on Saturday? PM me if you can do and we can arrange a time.... :)

Thanks Jane - am about to pm you :)

Unfortunately I think Stuart is someone who was used by Horsemadmandy (she used to keep a horse at your place a couple of years ago). He does not appear to agree with the 'natural' lifestyle of our horses and was pretty critical when he paid her a visit at the end of last year (described them as unruly - they are NOT )

 Sorry to hear that Sooty! I know of at least one other who comes to our yard. I will ask around for details to see if it's someone you haven't tried, ok?
