i dont know, but dont horses grow new frogs... so could it just be the old one falling off?

I'd just leave it to be honest. It happened to both of Kizzy's back feet and it just sorted itself out. It shouldn't make your pony lame, at least it didn't affect Kizzy at all, she didn't even know!

Like skin & nails, frogs are continuously growing & shedding, so this sounds normal - it just hasn't dropped off before you saw it.

You could leave it to drop off or cut it off / neaten it carefully, where it's unattached - our farrier says trim loose bits witha Stanley knife between visits (when he tidies their frogs up with their trim), but I use the first aid scissors. I worry that if you pull / rip them off, it might tear too deep.

Frogs shedding like that is normal, best to leave it to come off by itself unless there's some thrush getting in underneath and you can pull the loose bits off quite easily.
