..... or has anyone used ...

One of those gorgeously soft body brushes with the goat-hair "bristles"???

Every time I go to my local tack shop I pick one up and stroke it and wistfully wish I could justify over £9 on a small brush (£15 for the large! )

Cherry is naturally shiny anyway but I just imagine how her coat would sheen if I had one of those instead of my cheap old synthetic one!

So... I'm asking....

Anyone care to confirm what I expect I already know??? :D :D

I'l make you feel and tell you! We got a large one for our "amazing showjumpers" that "def deserve it" and "not to be used on any other horsies, no exceptions" and they're really not all that gud! The first time we used it they were scubbed and scrubbed as always and it was used to take off the last bit of dust but after using it once its hard to get it clean again and we never really use it anymore!!! :D

Jane - I have a spare (unused) one. I'll do a deal with you - I get a ride on Chez, you get the brush :D :D

btw I met Lynette who rents Morningside Farm and lives in that fab bungalow with the 3 stables in the garden. She is keen for hacking buddies and I've persuaded her to register on NR on Monday (hopefully!)

Got one and never really use it. It's too soft to do any good really  only time I ever use it is for doing their faces and even then it's not much use. It is lovely and soft but not really very practical.

Are there any body brushes that are particularly good, or is it just down to elbow grease and lots of swipes across the metal curry comb??? :p

I have one that was my grandads fro the 1st WW. It is fantastic.

Tools do make the difference between a rubbish job and a good one. Buy the best tools you can afford, the job will be a better one.

I use this brush only for show days, what a shine it gives, well worth buying quality.

Sooty, you don't have to swap anything to ride Chez!!!

Lynette's new stables look fab! Bit far to turnout though!! Breeches with Rosie & Rosie has been promising to ride out with her but I think he is always out and about too early.

PS If anyone is wondering, Breeches is currently on hols. Rosie1 is being looked after by a girl at our yard and Rosie2 (HRH!!!) is currently spending 24/7 "bonding" with all her new playmate mares. I go and give her a pat and a once-over daily but she is absolutely fine - still as affectionate and pleased to see me as ever, bless.

My point entirely Wally! But sounds like this particular item may just be expensive rather than useful.

But it's soooooo soft................

I have a really tiny one, I use it on my horse's face. I think a towel gets more of the dirt away though..;)

Jane, what you need is a cactus cloth.... that even gets my manky grey girly shining!

Just so happens I know someone who has a birthday coming up... and a visit to Somerset planned...and I have a spare one;)

V good actually!! Have been floating on air from the heaps of praise I got over how well Cherry is looking and how well she is going from her re-schooling (still obviously a "works in progress" but heading in the right direction, at least). And she was quite complimentary about me too which surprised me a lot :o

Looking forward to having the next one in about a fortnight!! :)

AND.... I can STILL WALK!!!! :D :D

Soz had to cancel but will rearrange again soon!

Thanks for asking!!!
