Just have to tell you. I took my 14.2 chestnut (Chica) to a show recently, here in Cyprus. The show was run by Chica's former owners. I really wanted to go because when I bought her she was a terrible mess, skinny and unloved with no muscle and a big cut on her face. Now she looks wonderful - muscled, shiny and happy and I really wanted to show them that there was no need for her to have looked so bad.... and guess what...
The owner's wife, who I don't know very well, came up to me and said "What a lovely pony, where did she come from?"
"From you." I said.
She looked astounded - blustered in an embarrassed way for a few seconds and then ran off.
Chica didn't win anything (we did Prelim 7) and she was so cheeky and did everything with her head in the air (did it fine at home in practice of course). But I didn't care - was really, really proud of her.
Oh and My mate's horse took a second so it was definitely worth the journey.
