hello Louise!

Welcome to the bulletin board and to the mad mad world of horse ownership! It sounds like Kitty is a real cutey. When you get a photo of her, do scan it and email it to me so i can have a look at her.

Saddles, synthetic ones are great - very easy to look after. The two ones to look for are made by Wintec and Thoroughgood. If you hang on a while, a new version of the Thoroughgood saddle is being developed by Heather Moffett who contributes a lot to this board and web site in general. i don't know when it is being released though.

For top riding tips, have a look at the 'Kinder Way to Ride' pages on this site written by Heather, and get January's issue of Your Horse which has an article by her in it. She teachers a really sympathetic way to ride which really works wonders.

With regard to horse care, are you keeping your pony at a yard or at home? If she is at a yard, don't forget to check the worming schedule and if you keep her at home, don't forget to set up a worming schedule. Your vet will be able to give you advice on this.

Have you read 'Understanding your horse' by Richard Mawell and Lesley bailey? It is a really good book that lets you see how horses tick which is alway useful.

Good luck with Kitty, if you have any specific problems or questions in the future, post them on the board and be prepared for lots of advice!

bye!

no no no! Synthetic saddles are no more crap than anyother saddle! They are strongr and better lived than any leather saddle. I have a wintec and I WILL not trade it for anything!!

About ponies....well, I don't really know where to begin. Do you have specifics? I can help you on that, but in General, I can't help a lot.

If you like, you can e-mail me at the following address: cleopatraeventer@hotmail.com. My real name is Claudia, and I'd be happy to help you out where ever I can!!

:) Thanks! :)
