This is a bit of a long story, so I shall condense as much as poss.
O.K

On another forum's For Sale/Wanted.

I post -- Wanted xyz

Reply -- I have xyz

Me -- How much

Them ££££

Me -- Brilliant, can I pay by paypal

Them -- Yes

Me --Great, please send to this address !!!! (not the one that appears on PP)

PP payment sent
I sit and wait,,, and wait,,. and wait. (there was a bank holiday)

Got in touch with sender oops!! they have sent to PP address, not address that I asked.
No return address inside/outside of package
No proof of postage ( although I did know it was delivered as called at the house and occupant had returned to RM)

Parcel has now been sent to Belfast RM and could take up to 6 weeks to find (if they can find it)

Sender says tough it's not my problem, thinks they have not done anything wrong.

What do you think.?????????????

To clarify-- PP keeps throwing up old address, and as I am not a computer whizz, thought I had covered all possibilities by asking for it to be sent to new address.

Difficult one this.
You should have asked seller to get a certifuicate of postage.
Seller for their own security should have got one anyway.
Contact Paypal and go into their dispute system. It often works in the buyers favour. Also email them direct re the address problem
Try a postal claim anyway if you have proof it was sent.
Recontact seller to see if they will help. Often they will.

If you have bought via a site that gives feedback, use that system as well.

Good luck

It's a difficult one. If you pay by PayPal technically you should accept that the goods are sent to the 'deliver to' address as shown in PayPal. Most sellers won't send to a different address as otherwise they are not covered by PayPal's confusing and complicated sellers protection policy. However if the seller doesn't have proof of postage, then she isn't covered by the protection policy anyway. And to send it without a return address on the outside or the inside is a bit silly.

But I'd get your address changed on PayPal immediately. If you can't do it via the computer, give them a ring and do it over the telephone - or ask them to talk you through doing it. It is very important that the correct mailing address is shown on a PayPal payment - for all sorts of legal reasons.

It's one of these situations where it's best to try to keep the whole thing friendly and come to some sort of agreement between you if you can. There have been mistakes made on both sides, so friendly agreement would be best.

I'm not sure that PayPal will refund you because you asked it to be sent to a different delivery address.

Royal Mail won't refund the cost of the goods. They delivered to the address on the parcel. And it isn't their fault if there isn't a return address. But hopefully the centre in Belfast may find the package - they do sometimes, I've known it to happen.

Any chance of both of you accepting that errors have been made on both sides, and for her to refund half the money? That would seem a fairer solution for now until the parcel turns up. Though her errors were worse than yours! :-)
