Had a lesson on a Lusitano stallion!

Recently went to Wales and on the recommendation of a couple of NR people (cheers Chev, Arianhod!) I went to a local Lusitano stud and had a classical lesson. He was the sweetest thing, 7 years old with a stunning long grey mane and the comfiest thing to ride. We did shoulder in, travers, leg yielding, flying changes, half pass, full pass, passage (whoa that felt wierd!) and topped it all off with a bit of spanish walk.

i think i know where you mean... can't remember the name of the stables, but it's in North Wales?
it's going to bug me now till i remember the name.

Just a lesson then we had a hack into the mountains on a (absolutely filthy) hairy cob.

I'm new here. I'm a dressage rider and i do it on lusos!!!! It is always nice to here the comeback on others that try out the lusos.
I love them to bits.
Anyone else tried them?

Hi Ditz I've had a few lessons at Pen-Llyn and have rode Samorim. I just wanted to tale him home with me :)

Bozzy, I went last summer after seeing them at a display and i've been on 2 holidays since then and am trying to get in 2 more.

I am yes although I could never own one - too much maintenance for me. Its all I can do to brush my own hair never mind all that mane!;)

I have one with short mane, but he makes up for it in his tail.

and I'm guessing they arent all as highly trained as the one I rode!

No, that is true, but you could train him yourself, they are very easy and you would have such good fun.
