lol I was going to say, I just bought some cider vinegar for Maiden, tastes quite nice... maybe I could just give her cider? Or maybe I'll just drink it all before she does lol!
Salt is an obvious one. I've recently heard something about dates being really good for horses... other than that I don't know. Most of the stuff you can buy for horses is classed as 'human food grade' or whatever. So I suppose you could eat it yourself as well!

Marmite on a carrot is good to keep flies away! Much the same effect as garlic

Thick honey smoothed onto a wound (no pus) is fab at getting rid of dead tissue and aiding healing.;)

Corn Oil in their feed helps weight gain and condition of the coat. The big tubs from the supermarket are much cheaper than buying the proper oils from tack shops.

I use sunflower oil and fakes of garlic in feed. I might try cider vinegar now that I've heard about it but I'm afriad I can't put marmite on a carrot because my horse detests it! My horses drink our bore water - the people who tested it siad it's the best bore water they have ever seen (nearly to human consumption quality) and it is as clear as crystal. It's high in alot of good minerals but the biggest one is calcium (good for hooves and teeth etc). Oh, this hasn't got anything to do with feed but when a horse I had earlier got a bad cut on a barbeb wire fence, instead of getting stitches he got it super glued :o . Sounds crazy but my dad is a health and safety manager and it has proven safe and affective, not just by me;) .

Olive oil is very good for blooming coats and is brilliant for feet etc as well.
I used to give Barnaby it and he was super shiny :D
