If you are going to Hickstead this weekend, it really is a great show, but be warned. Soft drinks and bottled water cost 1.50for 500ml. Over priced I think, when its so very hot.
Lots of great show jumping, and fab trade stands though.

I wasnt jumping, but with our yard group. What I think got me upset was there was no water trough by each ring for the horses. We humans can get ripped off /not as we choose, but there should have been water at each ring in my opinion.

Hmmm...I went on Thursday and got really hot. Did you think there were less trade stands this year? (Got loads of really good bargains! And got that painting lady to do a name plate for Miska, with a picture of her on it! yay!)
Saw all the coloured horses, but on Thursday all there was was coloured horses and jumping......wanted to see the scurry :(

We went down for the first time ( live in Cheshire so it's a bit of a trek), and I really enjoyed it, far better than any of the other jumping shows I've been to (olympia, hoys, british open etc).
The only thing I would change next year is that I would borrow a caravan and be on site, we were travelling back and forth to a hotel which we didn't spend much time in. If you had a caravan on site with a fridge to keep lots of drinks/snacks in it would make the weekend complete.
My lunch on one of the days was a £4 sausage butty which just had one small sausage and twice as much empty bread, boy did I feel ripped off.
