mine was a lot less than that, cant remember how much exactly though. Both the horse shops we went in had pretty much sold out and that was all there was, i also had to get him a really maky colour fly fringe because it was all they had

Yesterday my dad went out to do some schooling with horse stinking of NAF off extra - had to stop because there was a 'crown of flies' above poor horse's head. However I'm not sure if they were actually landing on him any more, but they were still really bothering him.
Probably due to this stupid new EU regulation all the effective fly sprays will be banned - stock up on your old stuff! I know Naf Off Extra complies to these new regulations as it does not contain citronella.
Not sure about the pink fly fringe either - can't see it on a Haffy gelding somehow!:D

Apparently it works for about an hour! smells absolutely vile tho - I was nearly tempted cos of the free fly doofer - (pink is Storms colour;) ) glad I didn't bother now tho, cos I've got some Carr Day Martin stuff that seems to be doing the trick.......

Have been trying it recently, flies decided not to land for maybe 10 minutes after putting it on then they were back to normal. Don't think it was any worse than the citronella one we tried though, both did pretty much b*gger all to get rid of the flies.

It seems to be working really well on him actually, from what i can see anyway  You have to top it up 3 times a day though. His new fly fringe is still in one piece aswell which is an added bonus!!! :D

That's good going then! The flies were landing as I sprayed on Saff. The fly fringe was crap as well .... apart from being pink which Madame DIDN'T approve of :D Girl after my own heart she is :p

I think Shearer must be strange- it works fine on him, no flies on him and no fly bites!

It works on mine too. I spray him at night before he is turned out, and he still smells of the stuff when he comes in the next evening! :D He is very prone to hives from fly bites and was really itchy with the car & day & martin spray, but since I got NAF off extra, he's been fine.

I dont rate it at all I emailed them and they are sending me free samples of their other fly products to try.
And like everyone I wanted the pink fly fringe and when I opened it its pony size!!! No good to me :(
By the way if anyone wants the fly fringe PM me

well it works on Harley but poor Daks it doesn't do anything for. and the ''cob'' size fly fringe that came free with it only just fits Harley (10hh shettie x falabella) and wouldn't even go halfway round Ted or Daks heads.
I'm going to email them to complain as it is really expensive but I could of spent nothing and got the same results (a horse covered in flies and bites):(

Shearers works really well, me and my friend did some experimenting with it and mixed a few different fly fringes into it and made it a lot better!

i use that one too, it seems to work well.
i think, they are banning citronella because a lot of horses are allergic to it. might be completely wrong though lol... :o

Oh actually i did hear something about it, i dont think it was that many horses though was it? I think a few horses had bad reactions to it so they banned it completely in fly sprays?!?

Works really well on some horses and others it has no effect it seems, lets just hope it works on Amba! I mixed mine in with some other stuff which made it more effective!

Brought this recipe...haven't tried it yet...would like to know if it works, I will be trying it!
...............................................................................
This bath product is used by the American Military when they are in the swamps to
stop the mosquitoes biting.
AVON SKIN SO SOFT . WOODLAND FRESH - this works!!!!!
Whilst some people do use this neat on their
horses I find that my thin-skinned neds can react so I use mine in various recipes.
Recipes:
The simplest and still effective:
Mix equal quantities of Woodland Fresh Skin so Soft and Apple Cider Vinegar.
This smells lovely and is an absolute doddle to make-up.
The Basic Recipe:
Half a pint of very strong (stewed tea)
Small bottle of Citronella (the type used for aromatherapy) OR if you prefer to abide
by the new U.K. legislation replace the Citronella with Tea Tree oil OR Eucalyptus
(personally I prefer tea tree, but since it is stronger than citronella, only use half a
small bottle)
Make up to one pint with white vinegar (I have used normal malt when I have run out,
and although your horse will smell like a fish and chip shop it still works well.)
Several drops of baby bath to stop the mixture emulsifying OR if you don.t have any
washing up liquid or shampoo also works.
