Finaly plucked up courage to enter a class today! Got to show late, as OH had been sailing and didnt get back till lunch time. Jumped out of truck, ran over to ring to find that the 65cm class was about to finish! Lovely yard owner held things up letting me tack up and jump on....No warm up, no gaiters, no stock (well, just part of it!), no jacket, to body protector noseband done up wrong (over cheekpiece at one side).....
Got to first jump...Oscar said what is that! :eek: and stopped....and jumped it from a complete standstill once he realised 'Oh it's a jump!' The went round all of the others, but with one stop at rather scarey green number 5 giving us 4 faults. I was delighted and astonished! Theree had only been 2 clears, so we had a jump off with other 4 faulters, which we won with a nice clear, bringing us in 3rd! Everyone was laughing at me as I was so excited - every time he jumped I yelled 'weeeeee' for some reason!

Then onto the 75cm. This time we got one jump down, but I was still delighted as oscar realy got going. he is usually really hard to move forward, but he was flying round really enthusiastically. There were 4 clears, so again a 4 faults jump off for 5th and 6th. This time Oscar did a perfect clear, I think beating the winner's time as well. I was SO pleased.

I would have love to have stayed for the 85cm and 95 cm, as he was obviously enjoying it, and didnt have a problem with the height, but thought it best to start off gradually, so went home - was only away for 2.5 hours all in all!
It was the BEST afternoon, I am so pleased with my big boy. I am just desparate to get out again!!!
PS I know I look a bit dodgy in most of the photos (including half stock / no jacket - not a good look!) but any constructive criticism would be appreciated!
