Miska

I have been planing to have a group lesson for awhile, but because of Miska's age and her inability to bend in a sand school i've never been able to. So I found a lesson on course jumping in a spacey field!
Well after a day spent cleaning tack etc, I was let down by the friend who was going to drive me to my lesson and had to resort to desperate measures by ringing up the only other man I know who can drive a horsebox....my godfather. Luckily he was willing to take me, so that was all sorted out...phew!
We began at 6pm, so it was a little cooler but was still very hot. Miska was so calm it felt like I as riding a different horse (she's an arab so shes usually nuts). There were 6 of us, and to my utter suprise I wasn't the only one riding a crazy horse (though I was riding the eldest).
We started off by jumping a single jump with a pole a few steps infront....I was really worried Miska would rush the jump like she always does. But guess what!!!!!???!!!!! She trotted over it! like the man wanted (I always get depressed with trotting poles as she jumps them!). He asked me what happened if i loosened the rein, so I showed him and she didn't take off with me! Am soooo proud.
We then went on to jump a course, for some reason Miska was in a refusing mood, though they were scary jumps, but she only refused teh same ones over and over, so wasn't too bad. The others she jumped really nicely and calmly. For the first time in years we cantered round a corner without doing motorbike turns, and she was in control (meaning she wasn't nearlly falling over)! WOW! ;D
Anyways it was a fantastic lesson, and really enjoyed myself despite the heat. The instructor said at the end 'I'm afraid your horse is set in her ways and you wont be able to change her, but shes a lovely little jumper but a difficult ride'. It made me feel good that someone actually realised she is not an easy ride and that I struggle with her.....oooohhhhhh am sooooo happy!
Sorry for long post and no pics...person who was going to drive me was going to bring her camera
