This is probably a very naive question, but I just bought a new leather cinch strap for my hubby's western saddle and I don't know how to tie the latigo ties to attach the darn thing to the saddle!

It is a three hole cinch strap - can anyone try to explain the proper way to thread the ties through the holes?

I ride English and hubby just started riding for the first time in his life, so neither of us knows how to do this.

Help! Please?!

place the strap behind the ring so that the short bit is facing you, line up the holes and thread the ends of the lace through the bottom 2 holes from front to back. Now take the ends, cross them over at the back and pass them back through through the bottom 2 holes again, don't tighten them up at this stage. Now take the ends and pass them both through the top hole, should look like a triangle from the front at this stage. Both ends should now be taken underneath the loop formed at the back, tighten the whole thing up, which takes a little bit of doing, and you're done !!

Oddly enough I was on the right track when trying this on my own. I was wanting to tie the knot through the front of the strap, though. I can do this! Thanks so kindly :)
