...and she was an absolute cow-bag!

I attempted to take her for a short bareback hack, just up the drive, and she reverted to her previous self, napped, spun and reared... and I STAYED ON!!!:D :D :D

OK, I was bleeding profusely from my mouth where her neck made contact with my face, and not only spitting blood but profanities to turn the air Indigo, let alone blue, but I bloody stayed on:D :D

I confess that I did get off fairly soon after her tantrum, like within 30 seconds of getting her to stand still, but, get this, I took her to the school and GOT BACK ON:D

Inordinately proud of my not-so-nervous-nelly-any-more self!

Just had to share, and have finally remembered that I'm supposed to be in here with the 'matures':D

Edited to add: Does anyone know how to get bloodstains out of a grey pony?

Naughty Dolly, bet you can't wait to get back in the saddle.

Any idea when that will be, I'm bugging Poohsmate to the point that I think he's rather annoyed.

Sorry small child syndrome.

Yup, without a doubt in or about to be Jane, but that's no excuse for her behaviour... she's perfectly capable of being a perfect lady whilst in season... although I suppose I should cut her some slack... I guess she may have had PMT and a headache;)

Jeez! I can't keep track of your antics missus!

Defo excommunicated from the Nervous Nellie club - still welcome in the matures section whether you like it or not, I'm afraid:p

Well done you for sitting that monstrous situation - chin has only just lifted off the floor.

Delighted to hear about your saddle too.

Oh man. I remember that post night shift feeling - enjoy your drinkie!

We used to do 7 nights on, 7 nights off. The last morning we often headed out for a big breakfast. We started off gate crashing the posh London Hotels for breaky - it was our evening meal after all. We went to the Ritz, The Dorchester and the Savoy. Then a girl from the Eastend came to join us and reminded us of the pubs open in Smithfield meat market.
Then came the trend to go for sausage, egg, chips and a pint!! Oh, we slept well that day when we eventually got home!;)

Sorry to hijack your thread:)

Slainte.

xx

Oh, Dee, I've been searching for someone who understands my liking for a fry up with chips and extra onions, and a couple of pints at 7.30 am for a long, long time.....;)

Surely I'm not alone as a worker who enjoys a pint or two after a hard day's (nights!) work... I just happen to occasionally have mine at 7.30am instead of 7.30pm:D

But I digress, and YOU Dee, are responsible:p

Please can I have re-admission to the nervous nellies club? I have to start actually RIDING again soon... and not just up the lane, but in fields, and on roads and stuff:eek:

Nah, I'm not scared of you Mim, after all you live in the North East, and I live in Somerset, even you can't scare me from that distance... and if I ever hear a rumour that you're headed this way, I have the advantage over you.. I know the Mendip Hills pretty well, and I'd run for 'em and hide:p ;)

Kalypso
8th Jul 2006, 10:23 PM
I dunno about that, Claire! She scared me and I was all the way in Ireland! ;) :D

God I am useless bareback I would of been straight of!!

I remember when I worked at a trekking centre in cornwall, I took aload of kids out for a bareback hack.. I was on a hogged Cob.. Hmmm I thought I can do this..hadnt ridden bareback in donkeys years..but the kids demanded I had to ! to!!

I had my waterproof kecks on which didnt help It was so slippy!

and yes I did slide of as we went down the steep track much to the amusment of the kids...

worst bit was trying to get a non supple rider back onto a babreback 16hh Cob !

Hmmm :o

Defo Well done to you for staying on!!!!

I remember when I got my saddle back.. i felt like I could conquer the world!!!!
