So it was competition time at my RS again this weekend. On monday I had my first go at the mini XC course of 4 jumps (http://www.newrider.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84424) and today my RI decided that we would have a competition with them.

I was on Rhyme, this is only the second tim I have ridden her, and for thoes of you who have long memories you might remember that I rode her in October and it was the worst lesson I have had (http://www.newrider.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64805) - I just couldn't get her to go and I felt terible.

So in todays lesson I was quite worrid that it might all go to peices again, but thankfully it did not. Which shows I have improved a bit since October as a rider.

The RI let us warm up over 2 of the XC jumps then the competition was on, you got 2 points for each good jump and -1 for letting the horse run out or refuse (I wonder what she watched on telly last night  ).

I am really pleased to say that I jumped them all perfectly :D so did someone else in the group so since we were tied in first place as a tie breaker we did it again, but this time it was timed, I went first and managed all the jumps in 38 seconds, then the person I tied with went, she managed 34 seconds and so I ended up second. This is the first time I have come second at my RS and so this was my first blue rosette :D (to join the 3 red and 3 yellows)

I enjoyed it quite alot, and it was good to be able to jump the cause with out the problems I had on Monday night :)

Well done :) It's nice to have the confirmation that your riding really has improved, isn't it?

Thanks everyone, I'll have to get my own horse soon so I can try some real shows

And thanks to the advice I got from lastweeks first try on the little XC course (http://www.newrider.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84424) Most of which was be more confident to stop the refusals and it worked :) Even though I was on a horse I was less confidant on (only having ridden her in a very dissapointing lesson in October) :)
