i'm going on a private riding camp ith some friends but theres no ramp and my friend has spinabifida scoliosis and really tight mussels on the inside of her leg which prevents her from jumping on to a horse, the camps for three intence horse training days and she's a good rider but i need sum suggetions of how i can get her on with no more that a stump, i've choosen a small horse but i'm still not strong enough to lift her even with two people and if she falls when were out on a hack it'll be hard to get her on.

to get on:
:she cant use stirups as her legs wont strech that far and she cant bounce up
:she cant get a legup-legs again and i cant lift her (weight approx 55kg) and
:her leg can only go forward over the saddle as in over the pommel faceing forward-leg wont strech bac

Any Suggestions???

Can you take a tall mounting block?

I have a lower back problem & as a result can't "jump" onto a horse. I use something tall enough that I can stand on it and just swing my leg over the horse, no jumping reuired. My TB's are rather tall and I can stand on a sawhorse to get on.

For someone with less mobility (or a horse less willing to stand quietly than my TB's), perhaps something a little more stable than a sawhorse might be required. You might be able to find a decent 3-step ladder.

I found a set of these at a hardware/lumber store:

and am working on building a mounting block on them. I've got it turned upright from the way it was designed, which makes it more steep but taller. I made it too narrow at first--trying to keep it somewhat lighter--but will be taking it apart & re-assembling it with 2' wide planks for the steps.

ok thanks for that, the block i mite be able to take in the car when where there but it's mainly the getting on when were out and bout with tree only that i'm concerned bout cos we do a lot of ground work expecially when we go to the Xcountry course as we often need to pull out bushes etc cos it dosen't get used much lol
