one day i was feeding Blue carrots over the electric fence. But someone turned the power back on and she got a electric shock and now if i try to give her carrots i have to trow them over the fence or otherwise she just runs away from me .Does anyone know what i can do to stop her being scared of me giving her carrots.

Try giving her them when your on the same side of the fence, My own horses are extreamly scared of my electric fence, just as well because thats all that i use to divide my fields. Anyway they won't let you touch them over the fence but they are grand if your on same side as them.

Yeah try beeing in the field like once you are near her just slowly give her the carrot, she will soon learn that it isn't that scary, my horse got a shock from my electric fence and wouldn't come out the field for 3 days as thats all i use to seperate my fields, but once she learnt that it won't get her unless she touches it she is fine now!!

I agree with what the others said. It's not necessarily that she's afraid of the carrots- she's afraid of the fence! - And rightfully so. Give them to her when you're in the paddock, too, or you're going to have to keep tossing them over the fence.

Does she take other food from you over the fence or is it just carrots that she won't?

Does she take carrots from you anywhere else, like in the barn, or outside the paddock? If she does, she probably isn't afraid of the carrots, but more so the fence.

once i was catching one of ours and was holding her headcollar and i accidentally hit my hand off a fence and we both got the shock from it - poor pony she was afraid of me for days!
