Treefree Arrived!

Boy,,, does she like the saddle so far. First one that she has moved that freely out in (other than the Star Trekk).. super smooth walk and tolt. And really wanted to tolt out!

It does slide forward and back a bit going up and down that super steep hill.
Think because of the placement of the billet straps? Am going to see if the company can move them forward a bit.

Fits her much better than the Freeform, Barefoot and those kinds.
Really like that the pad can be attached to the saddle.

Does not rub on her loin at all so far,, Which has been a major issue with some other saddles. Can get my hand under the saddle so the spine is nice and clear.

The pommel does put a little pressure on her but nothing like the Barefoot did. Doesn't seem to bother her at this point.

I like the pommel and cantle, nice going up and down the Hills. I do not feel down hill in the saddle so far, so that is good. Can feel the stirrup hook but not as bad as the Barefoot was to me. Like the feel of the seat a lot. Is a little wide but can get used to that.

However.. main issue with me is the Stirrup hook placement. I must be totally weird in my conformation. Because as it is set up,, it puts my heels behind the center.

Nice saddle over all. So will see. Going to do a two week trial with this one. If she is like this every day we go out. Think I have finally found her saddle.

Is it the Dartmoor Treefree that you've got? If so the stirrup bars put your leg in the correct position, which does feel wierd at first 'co we're used to having the stirrup bar further forward on a treed saddle. It takes a few days to get used to it but well worth the effort, good luck.

I trialled one but didn't end up keeping it and had the same problem. I've had an SBS and Fhoenix since and like the set back stirrup bars on those but found the ones on the treefree a bit too far back.

Tubby, with my body type where they have the stirrup bar...it puts me behind the center. Also have heard of other people with this problem. Other than that, I like the saddle a lot and the most important thing is my mare really likes it.

If the way the leather hung, put me at center it would be fine. But Behind the center is not good.;)

I have tried so many kinds of Treeless saddles and so far.. other than the Stirrup hanger,, this is the only one we both like.

A lady at my yard has a barefoot treeless and she loves it :D and her icelandic goes brilliantly with it:D

We have a torsion from Torsion UK which is a nice saddle and my Icelandic is very happy in it.
My daughter is not so keen and we are beginning to think we might need a saddle each!! Its not so great for jumping.
