When the outside shoulder is towards you is that when you are sitting and rising when it moves away I'm confused:eek:

I remebered it like this: Rise forward, sit back. That means rise when the outside leg is forward, sit when it is back. Not that I ever get my diagonals right anyway. :D Hope this helps! :)

I was always taught "rise and fall with the leg on the wall." Meaning when the horse's outside leg is moving front you should be rising, and when the leg goes back, you sit.

Now you've just got to remember that it's the outside leg you've got to concentate on (well I can never remember that bit! :p )

Practise makes perfect guys! It took me a long time also to figure it out but I've mastered it! When out hacking is also a good time to practise :)

LOL - I had my lesson last Monday, and I completely fouled up the diagonals and still couldn't get it right by the end of the lesson! :D I had it sorted in my prior lesson before Xmas too! :p
