How much roughly are you paying for injections each year and dentist visits (6 monthly)?

Hello:)
My vet bill for injections are rough £60/70 but that includes a £40 call out fee. So if you have a vet quite close by you can pop in there (walk the horse down or go in trailer) and that makes it much cheaper. The denist bills are about £20 depending on what treatment the horse has. If the whole yard gets into a routine where the dentist can come out and visit all the horses at once. It may work out cheaper if the dentist has a call out fee and the dentist will apreciate doing every1 in one trip :D
Hope it helps :) :)

Thanks, cheaper than I thought (I budgeted £40 per pony per month). Will check with our vets/dentist tomorrow for exact figures - but at least I can do a rough budget to show hubby

My dentist is £30 a time twice a year. He often doesn't need anything done though and the last two times I have got my money back. The vet is £47 for a vaccination.

I rang the dentist who is moving to the area next week (if anyone is in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire etc and didn't see his advert in the Western Telegraph, then I have his number) and he charges £25 plus call-out fee depending on mileage. I think Frayne will need to see him in January - so if anyone would like to get together and book him for a few hours, and get several horses there, then let me know.

i'm about £100 per year for vaccs and teeth checks/rasps for 2 horses. i don't use a seperate EDT, the vets at the practice i use are all trained in dental work and so i just use them :)

£30 for the boosters, plus callout which is around £25, but its good if I can tie in with someone else.

Dentist is £35 once a year for top jobby, and £15 once a year for a local guy who is good to keep them checked.

Vacs is £30 cal out then £24 per horse, once a year.
For teeth it costs £35 per horse and she doesn't charge us a call out, but if you need a vet to sedate the horse for major work that is another £37 call out and about £20 for the sedative on top.

How longs a piece of string???! Seriously, the vets bills have been quite large for us lately, but I'd say about £150 a year for vaccinations each (we have two) could even be a tad more. We have their teeth rasped / checked every 6 months - think that was about £45. However much you budget - it will never be enough........!!!

Dentist is £30 every 9 months but last time I had to have Milly sedated so that was an extra £40.
Injections are £25 for strangles every 6 months and then £35 for flu and tetanus jabs once a year.

I pay £20 for the dentist the give Twig a check over and some basic work...obviously price goes up if it's more. A few of us have him come at the same time so that it's not too expensive.

I pay £30 for flu and tetanus boosters. It's also a £35 call out fee we try and get people together to share call out fee for this too. It's expensive if you need to start the course from scratch though...the call out fees add up!!

OOH NOO I never thought of that. We are starting the jabs on Sietske from scratch and its £40 call out, I think I have the most expensive vet in the country when it comes to call out fees, how stupid though. I might offer to pick the vet up :p then i wont have a call out fee. Although he may object to this suggestion for some reason:rolleyes:

Ooh, I didn't know there was an injection for strangles - I expect she is fully covered as her owners have literally done everything, but will check.

I know she is due for flu and tetanus by the end of September.

Strangles is still a pretty optional vacine, some have it but it is not common place yet.
