help with disrespectful horse

hi i need advice on how to fix my loan horse she is being a complete pill these days. When we work in the roundpen she spins and tries to go the oposite way i ask and yesturday she nearly ran me over any ideas on how to fix her naughtiness

5 months and she just strted this abut 3 days ago i ahd her checked by the vet and he said she was fine physiclly

Probably isnt naughtiness.

You could be sending her mixed signals. She may just not know what you're asking.

Round penning is alot more involved than just sending a horse around in a circle. If you dont understand how you should be using your body, where to stand in relation to the horse, when to add pressure, when to release pressure, you could very well confuse your horse.

It sounds like you are blocking her space with your body, causing her to change direction.

As tootsie4u said, you have to be very precise with yur body language and you have to be aware that everything you do and every move conveys a message to her.

I also think about opening and closing space for the horse. So for example, if I want the horse to go in a particular direction, I make sure that I'm not blocking the space in front of them - if I do, they will either shoot through at a rate of knots or turn and go the other way.

It'd be useful if you could have a lesson with someone who knows about body language and horses so you can make sure you're not sending her mixed signals.
