Okay, sorry for the lame title. I watched the Wizard of Oz last night :D
Anyway, ever since I moved my morgan horse from another yard to this one, she's been pretty healthy. She's lost weight (she was a chubby girl now she's quite fit) and her coat looks great. Her hooves are in a good condition too, now that she is barefoot. But the flies have gotten May very very badly this year. She had had lots of small bumps, from her neck to her flanks, and on her legs and face. Some of the bumps are circular and bald. May has also been sneezing a lot with thick mucus, which makes me think she has ringworm, but I am not entirely sure. I'm still looking into symptoms of horses with ringworms on the internet and in books.
I've started to play the Friendly Game with a flyspray bottle filled with water and a tiny bit of the flyspray, and I've moved on from that to regular flyspray (May has a little bit of an issue with water and other liquids.) I've also put cream on the bumps that were bleeding/scabs. It's only been three days but she is looking a LOT better. But, while grooming her mane, I've found tiny little...yellowish things that I can only describe as eggs in her mane. They stick to her mane like glue and the only way I can think of getting them out is brushing them out or shaving her mane off  Her bridlepath was a bit untidy, so I trimmed it up a bit. Most of the eggs there came out, but her mane still has some in there.
Anyway...what are some symptoms of a horse with ringworm? And if May doesn't have ringworm, could the bumps just be from flies or possibly an allergic reaction? And what are the 'eggs' in her mane and how can I get them out?
Thanks and apologies for the long post :)
