another rug question!

for this winter star is going to need a new travel rug when he comes home for christmas from college. in previous years he has been fine with an underug and/or fleece on and he's been warm enough, however is was never clipped then and this year he will be so i need a thicker type of travel rug, ideally i would love to get him a thermatex but funds wont stretch that far even with explaining fully to parents why star needs one!:rolleyes: i would use his stable rug but he can be a bit of a stress head at times and sweat a bit and he needs the stable rug to wear at night when we're back home so cant risk it being soaked so ideally want a wicking type of rug.
any ideas anyone?

Can you not use a fleece with a lightweight turnout on top? The fleece will wick away any sweat from the nerves of travelling and you may need to hang your turnout inside out to dry it .... but at least the stable rug will be dry... :)
