More info please?!!
How old is this horse?
How much work have you done with her?
Have you cantered her on the lunge, or on a hack (ie. in a straight line)
Does she buck when you ask for canter, or just faster trot?
I'll try and be helpful!!

She is between 10 and 15. I just started teaching her to lunge and I've havn't been able to canter her on the lunge yet. She always does this when ridin. She dosn't buck. I've been working with her since Oct. Then just these past few cold and raniy weeks I havn't been able to do much. But in Oct, and Nov I rode her about 4 times a week.

Have you had her long? It would be interesting to know some history about her from previous owners.
I am wondering whether there is pain somewhere - she is obviously reluctant to canter and when she does she 'runs away'. At her age, she should be well balanced and willing to go into canter. Will she canter out on a hack?
It is very difficult to know why she does this without watching her or knowing more about her.
