I currently use Cytek but will change next shoeing to Natural Balance. They are supposed to help promote healthy horn growth as the frog is more in contact with the ground, therefore stimulating the blood supply to the foot (which would happen in the wild with no shoes). They are also placed further back on the foot, giving the horse a shorter toe and therefore putting the 'break over' point in the correct position. They are more natural (ie. the horses foot will be a similar shape to that in the wild and allow natural wear at the toe).

They do stop the horse from stumbling as much - I have a TB who's feet were terrible, but are now much improved after a year of use, without the use of supplements.

Check out a farrier's web site or search for Natural Balance shoes on the Inet - I'm sure there will be an article somewhere!! Most farriers will offer Natural Balance, as well as other types of shoe.
