Fantastic - I remember that feeling!
Hope the lack of photos doesn't just means that it rained, not that there's a problem:eek: :D Look forward to seeing it!
(haven't forgotten Sonny Steele info by the way - just *ahem* temporarily misplaced it.... )

I went to try it on madam last night, she got ants in her pants and I really couldn't see how well it fitted her, it went on OK and the style definatly suited her but she was dancing around and stomping alot so I gave up and put it away before she caught it on something  I have no idea what got into her, she was just being a witch!
I am going to try again tonight so will try and get some pictures :D I am fairly confident it will be OK, there is pleanty of flare at the front and it is definatly wide enough for her, I just need to look closely at the rock and double check it all once it is cinched up properly.
Thanks Montana, I look forward to seeing it, when it reappears ;) :D

When people say flair in the saddle what actual part of the saddle are you talking about?

Flare refers to the shape at the front of the saddle, the panels which sit over the shoulder blades. These shuld 'flare' outwards, away from the horse, so not to impede the shoulder movements. I'm sure someone else can explain this better:rolleyes: . A lot of saddles are still built without enough flare, and consequently sit tight on the shoulders; my first saddle did this, and really restricted my horse's movement.

Well I tried it last night on a much quieter horse :D but forgot the camera, I put it in the car this morning so weather depending I will have pics tomorrow.
It looked pretty good, seemed to sit evenly along the whole of the bars with a little weight on it (just me pushing in the seat by hand) I think the combo of a new saddle and relatively new pad (no shape to it yet) made it sit up a little. I wonder if it could be fractionally wide at the shoulder but she has been out of work and last time she muscled up loads in the first 2-3 weeks so am not too worried.
I didn't ride in it, she hasn't done anything in 4 months and I go on holiday in 12 days so am going to wait until I get back, well thats the plan anyway :o
I did lunge her gently in it, big circles and only walk/jog but she moved really nicely, long and low, very relaxed and he jog was a nice quality (compared to the rushing we were getting as the other saddle got tight on her) she didn't show any sign of being uncomfortable at all and seemed very happy with it. I didn't work her enough to get a sweat up, but after the hair on her back was still all laid nicely flat and the dust marks showed nice even patches where the bars were.
I will buy a new pad while in Vegas on holiday, will get one of the shaped ones. I will also have to get her a longer cinch :o and a latigo....I think they forgot to include it :(
