My mare recently had the horse whisperer out to come speak to her and it was honestly AMAZING!!! The stuff the lady came out with was unbelievable.

Anyways, Skye told the lady she wanted a bitless bridle because the bit reminds her of when she had sore teeth and it used to hit against them. Any info or advice would be brilliant!!

Erm, sorry if I sound a bit thick, but...

do you mean 'horse whisperer', like someone who uses join up, or a 'horse psychic' (sp?) who reads their mind? :o

I've heard Dr. Cook Bitless Bridles are very good but using something like Parelli's Natural Hackamore is just as good. Mechanical hackamores and certain sidepulls are just as painful as bits though.

I have actually own a Dr.Cook and do NOT rec. them. They don't work well on a lot of horses and certainly didn't work for mine.

I would rec. a plain rope halter to start, and see how it goes from there.

I've been riding my TB in a Parelli natural hackamore for three years and can thoroughly recommend them, although in saying that, like anything else they're probably not suitable for every horse.

I've just purchased a Dr Cooks BB purely because I want to enter a few comps at the local shows next season and wanted a BB that was more traditional looking.

I'm finding it brilliant at the moment and my horse seems to be giving it his seal of approval as well. :)

The best of the Dr Cooks is you have a 30 day money back guarantee so you have nothing to lose if it doesn't suit. I'm planning to cram everything in within the 30 day offer (hacking, jumping, schooling etc) to see if any problems arise. ;)

I have had Dr Cooks for many years on many different horses and have always had good results with them. I however either use the higher quality leather or Beta(what ever that kind of stuff is).
