It's a dark, dark night down here in the woolly wilds of Surrey.... oh, yes, the year is getting old, my friends! (Blurry pitch BLACK at 8.30pm)
:(

BUT! As I have a cold, I have a hot toddy here by the pc, yes, it's legit. and medicinal, and I'm thinking over my happy time with HarleQueen(;) ) today.

It was blowing a gale, so I took my trusty OH with me to fetch her in from the field which is about 15 mins walk away from the yard(the nearby field is resting), and down some scary tracks and UNDER THE MOTORWAY:eek:
Yes, she spooked,(but not under the motorway, at a LEAF) yes, she made me run, but Oh, isn't it great just to walk/run alongside ya very OWN horse? When you're not riding, you can see how they move, and I love it. So proud.

I know, I know, bang on the head and all that AND a hot toddy:rolleyes:

Oh good for you girlie still heading down there to do stuff with her and good old OH for supporting you - he seems a lovely chap - good singer, anyway would love to have chatted more last Sun.

Just can't bare the thought of the winter coming so won't say anymore on that:o

I'm a bit of a hot port sort of a girl with cloves and lemon when I'm poorly - the hot whisky makes my head go woozy:)

Brave woman... and wise to take OH with you.:)

Where is the write up on the fabby concert and on HQ's new auntie then? I've been searching but can't find it. After being away, like HC, I have been doing a trawl and seem to be missing details such as the above.... Last I heard re HQ aunties, was she had a very dodgy prospective auntie who shouted and smacked her. Is this the same auntie Domane refers to in her HC update? Did she have a personality transplant?

Thanks Jane.:D But didn't you say in the HC update that HQ was happy with her new auntie? I must be going round the bend... perhaps LD's concussion is catching....

Yes it was a wee bit wild and wooly this weekend in good old Surrey wasn't it? You have to go UNDER the motorway! Yikes!! I am thinking I may know more or less where you are given that bit of info ;) well generally anyway...

Thank goodness the weather has calmed down again today..cos I get to start my share today...:D Just in case anyone's forgotten..:D

Your OH sounds very nice LD.. Mine says he will come with me today when we go and do all our agreementing with Misty's Mum.. just in case I forget something, which is very likely given how excited I am likely to be..:D

I hope your cold gets better soon.. keep up the hot toddies :)

Hi Annabelle,

I missed this one! Sorry :o

I'm so glad to hear you sounding so positive about HQ and the happy times. Motorway bridges and underpasses *hah!* LEAVES on the other hand *eeeek  * It won't be long before you're back in the saddle of that lovely confidence giving gelding and away :D

Cheers all, m' dearies:)

I'm coming back to life! Today I thoroughly enjoyed watching the farrier at work, and afterwards turning my girlie out, splendid in her new shoes (only the fronts), and neatly shaped tootsies.

Beautiful sunshine, and feeling lots better.

May try a little sit on George this week. Still wibbly(world slips sideways!) if I turn my head too quickly, so better not actually ride. I s'pose I could in the sand school, if someone was there to catch me :p

It's been a weird one, this concussion. I think my whole system took a knock, cos I've felt very down, and generally YUK.

So I truly appreciate everyone's friendly words on here:) :) :)

And Caz- sorry you've been made dizzy trying to unravel the goings on with everyone ! (Hope you're in 'caught up' mode now?). HQ has a temporary auntie who is happy to help whilst she has time. This gives ME time to recover my faculties so that I can deal with organising a more permanent solution.

I am thanks, LD, and glad to hear temporary auntie is a good one. Also glad to hear you are feeling better.:) However... Please don't try to do too much too soon. From what you sayStill wibbly(world slips sideways!) if I turn my head too quickly, be very careful if you are seriously thinking about getting on a new horse, however sane and sensible. If you're going to do that, arena and leading rein would seem to be a good idea just to start. Concussion is a very funny thing, as if you didn't know.;) I know I'm going to sound like I'm teaching fellow wrinklie to suck eggs, BUT, do you not think it might be better to give it a bit longer until the wibbly feelings have subsided before having your first ride since your fall? I can imagine just how keen you are to get going again, but to delay, say, a week isn't going to make much difference. How about going and giving said gelding a good groom and get to know him a bit before getting on. It does look as though he'll be your hack and friend for a while.

Having said all that... I am a worry wort. and it is really good to hear you coming back to life again.:)

Take care.

That's a good idea, Caz, and thanks for worrying about me-aaaw!
:)

In truth I'm not ready to get aboard yet, but getting to know the old boy and talking to him will be a good beginning. I've been getting back into mucking out HQ's bed this week and enjoying it (mad fool me) but it's slowish work. And hot, too- we're having another heat wave aren't we?!
