Have kept the old gal on box rest for 4 days and there seems to be a slight improvement in her movement... she is only slightly "off" now...

As she is climbing the walls with boredom I decided I would see how she moves before turning her out, let her have a few hours in the field and then see how she is again when I get her in. If she is no different I will probably put her out during the day and bring her in at night for enforced "rest" until the vet comes Weds.

Anyway..... we strode off to the field and I honestly thought she would hooley off but no, she very sedately ambled away, head down, searching for that ultimately tasty tuft of grass, in the general direction of the rest of the "herd". I stood and watched, breath held and yup! It seems I am starting to get to know my girl... suddenly she dropped her head, gave a huge buck, an even HUGER fart  and cantered across to greet all! Never seen her do that in the field before..... :p

Hee hee!

You know, THAT's how I came off HQ! She thought she was going to see her mates because we were heading in that direction, and forgot I was on board.

The fart bit is so hilarious ; they are so undignified yet splendid when they do that:D

Lovely Cherry:) :) :)

Heh, poor thing! :D Woody had a wee cold a while back, and coughed so hard that he farted out the back end a couple of times. Poor wee sausage! :p

Still whopping I'm afraid Caz... I reckon it's very likely that she'll be prescribed some bute for anti-inflammatory purposes!!! :)

Oh b*m.:( Don't know anything about windgalls I'm afraid, but loads of sympathy from here.:o :) Anyway, from this thread it doesn't sound like she's too bothered by them.

he heee,

At our old yard I heard a 30 year old mare cough which caused an effort related fart so loud that the corrugated iron shed she was passing rattled! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/lynda788/laughing7.gif

Megan's a bit like Captain Nic, she farts when I pick out her rear hooves, seems to be a trigger. She also lets out a whistling one when she goes into her stable of an evening... like a winding down whistle :D

Aww, bless her. It always surprises me when I see the sedate ones going all loopy and ACTUALLY exerting some energy!

I hope she gets well soon.. Are there photos of the whole of her, not just her feet? Her feet (apart from the windgalls) look very huggable..:)
