Montana how did it go with the vet on Friday?

Aw, thanks so much for thinking of us:)

Vet called on Friday to say they needed to make the appointment for Tuesday instead:rolleyes:
He had a vaccination on the last visit, we somehow missed one last year, so he needed them starting again from scratch. Anyhoo - they'd realised that it wasn't quite 21 days yet, until Tuesday 5th, and they couldn't do the second jab yet, so they phoned to say they needed to postpone to get both done at once.....

So, still awaiting verdict:( His leg's still a bit puffy. It did go down altogether a few days ago, but has come back up again now.

I'll let you know on Tuesday - Keep fingers crossed until then for me?:rolleyes: :D

We seem to be living a horsey double life, vet back out to Loki next week for his second vaccinations, lets hope your boy follows suit and is off his box rest shortly :)

Hmm, no such luck I'm afraid.

I was expecting not so good news, but it was still a disappointment when the vet came:( .

She's put Monty back on bute for a week, to try to reduce the swelling, which is still there after nearly 5 weeks now. He's not allowed to be walked in hand again for a week or two, confined to base entirely......He then has another week on box rest after this, without the bute, to see how he manages, and whether the swelling reduces.

After this, if there's still no improvement, they want to scan him to try to understand what's going on a bit more. She said she still thinks it's a fairly minor tendon sheath inflammation, and things are going the right way, but it's still miserable for Monty and for me. The last few weeks of summer, and I'm already doing every morning. And he's really fed up of being in. We're lucky I suppose that we've got a little barn for him, and a companion (with laminitis - only allowed out for 1/2 hour a day), so he's not stuck in a stable on his own, but I'm certainly not feeling lucky tonight *sigh* Ho hum - could be a lot worse:rolleyes:

Oh no I am so sorry, I really feel for you, and Loki sends his sympathies to Monty. Glad to hear that he is going the right way though, sending lots of positve thoughts to speed Monty's healing along.
