silly spirits improving

hey, well, things have improved slightly with my spirited mare. She's beginning to listen a little better. I was wondering, how would I go about safely longreining my mare?
I may as well give it a shot, infact it really sounds like a good idea. I dont know whether she has been longreined before though, are there any special precautions advisable?

my horse used to need alot of encouragement to get motivated, and now im insisting that she settle down and relax, I'd be glad of the lazy mare back!
Will you believe it, i have a broken wrist just healing, (happened 2wks ago) and that still hasn't stopped me riding, lunging and caring for my sneddies.
