Write up.....

Photos below of Dyfra and me in the 17"seat Exmoor Treefree
saddle with the suede on the underside of the saddle and suede seat & knee roll....she is tolting. Just don't mind the dumpy looking lady on
top. ;O)

Moving the Billets one Inch forward did the trick, since Dyfra has a forward girth groove. I also had the stirrup hook moved forward one inch too, I like it much better this way. Company has no problems doing custom orders and they make the saddles quickly.
Saddle is super comfy, nice and secure. Very stable on her back!!
Quality of the leather and suede is excellent. Can't feel the stirrup
hooks at all, which is a major plus for me. Can use normal webbers.
Bought the pad that was made for this saddle and it is pure fleece
next to the horse and is really nice. Also can attach it on the
saddle in such a way as it is like one whole thing, Saddle and pad.
No slipping possible. Really like that, too.
Rode not only on the track/trail but in the woods going up and down
the hills just to make sure. It stayed in place.
Dyfra really likes it,, is forward going and tolts nicely. Which is
the most important thing!!!!
Something I though was cute....and was not expecting...the maker of
this saddle is called the," Viking saddle company". <VBG>

Over all an Excellent Treeless saddle!

Shari
(one picture her nose is a little more up than I like...we are working
on getting her to bring it down a bit. So work in progress. ;O))

Looks a nice saddle, but a bit of a p-take really, as it's just like the Dartmoor Treefree, which has been about for ages. I found this website and they are even using the same photo for both saddles!
http://www.bitlessbridle.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=10
(the Treefree is cheaper on there).
Anyway, glad you like it, I too am a fan of these saddles, provided they are properly fitted :)

Can I just ask what is the difference between the Exmoor and the dartmoor?

difference is knee rolls as far as I can tell. :D

Dyfra loves this saddle which is the most important thing. Is a little long however with a treeless I am not worried about it. With Icelandic's...most all of the Icey horse, saddle combos look like this. <shrug>
Believe me when Dyfra doesn't like something she lets me know.;)

Nope, you can have knee rolls with a Dartmoor Treefree :D Normally the differences are in construction, so quality of materials used, how the weight distribution is handled for the stirrups, that sort of thing. Dartmoor Treefree do custom orders, 3 different sizes of pommel blocks plus will make customed blocks as well... Their pad even attaches like the one in your photo as far as I can see.
Just seems a bit cheeky to produce such a same saddle and even nick the name
Very comfy though aren't they? It looks as if yours fits you nicely, so often see people riding in them where the saddle is too small for their bum.

Great website with some good information on the fitting and using of treeless saddles.

Humm... now that is confusing. So what is the difference between the Exmoor and Dartmoor?
From what little info I could gather one has suede seat and knee rolls and the other doesn't. Also said one is more "beefed" up?

The one I have also has the suede bottom of the saddle with the built up panels.

Yes, this one fits us both well. Though have to admit I was looking at the saddle on the saddle stand... going....boy is that a big saddle! Then I sit in it. Getting older and not as spry as I used to be and it shows. <LOL>
